After two ER Hospital visits and over $12,000 in medical bills and no answer as to why I could not stand up straight because of the pain, I was referred to Porter Family Chiropractic by a close friend. My first visit to their office I was humped over and had to be escorted into the office and helped to the exam room. They took ex-rays and a Paraspinal Digital Infrared Image of my back. They explained all of the findings, went over the X-rays and developed a plan of action to get me back on my feet. They gave us reports to take home and read and study. Dr Porter explained that what was happening with my back was not a single issue, but was from years of not taking care of my overall health. She and her staff have shown me how important it is to take care of myself on a daily basis.
Within four visits to their office, I was standing upright, walking on my own. We developed a plan to see them twice a day, 3 days a week for 2 weeks. Her techniques are simple and she encourages me to listen to my body. It will tell me what I need to do if I will listen and obey. I like the fact that their treatment is natural and I am not being stuck with needles, loaded down with pain pills and muscle relaxers. After being diagnosed with cancer 9 years ago, I have been on a quest to learn about natural ways to take care of my body. Chiropractic treatment was the missing element from my plan. My plan is to continue with treatment to where I will be walking pain free and then will continue with treatments to stay in shape, along with exercise and smart meal planning.
